This is a case study detailing a custom-designed, self-supporting loading dock solution. The customer initially reported operational issues, specifically excessive noise during nighttime deliveries that disturbed nearby residents.

After analyzing the client’s operations, Alapont Global confirmed the noise problem. To solve this, they modified existing facilities to create enclosed loading areas with roofs and sectional doors. They then developed a custom solution—a hybrid between a loading dock ramp and a self-supporting lift table.
The Solution: A custom loading ramp with lift table
The design addressed two key challenges: limited space and noise reduction.

Alapont Global’ s engineering department created a self-supporting loading ramp incorporating several noise-reducing and space-saving features:
- Compact size: 2000mm x 1000mm
- Acoustic insulation: Using polyurethane for noise reduction.
- Soundproof hydraulic unit: Housed in a soundproof enclosure; the platform’s movement is smoother to minimize impact noise.
- Adjustable legs with silentblocks: The ramp rests on a metal base with adjustable legs and silentblocks for vibration dampening.
- Rubber supports: The lip rests on rubber supports when closed, preventing metal-on-metal noise.
- Pre-assembled: The unit is fully assembled on a metal base at the factory, enabling quick installation (simply attach to the floor and connect to the power supply).
- Manual Override Feature: The self-supporting dock also includes a manual override, enabling continued operation in case of electrical failure, preventing work stoppages.
Results: This custom design resolved the noise complaints without impacting operations and with minimal civil works. Alapont Global highlights their ability to create bespoke loading and unloading solutions.
